| Welcome to the Official Saathi Night Website.
The idea behind Saathi Night began when a group of like mined friends
came to together, in the hope of setting up a monthly South Asian
Gay Club Night, in the heart of the Birmingham Gay Scene.
After months of hard work, and ruthless promotion of the event
across the country, the first ever Saathi Night was born on the
Friday 13th of July 2001 @ The Village, Hurst Street, Birmingham
B5. The night attracted a massive response, which lead on to
Saathi Night having its own dedicated followers of Bholi Boys & Giddha
Girls, from all over the country.
Within only a period of six months, Saathi Night had outgrown
its residency, and relocated to its new home. In February 2002
Saathi Night re-launched at ‘COBS’, and has maintained its status as
one on the biggest and best club night’s on the Asian Gay circuit
today.
Saathi Night is an independent and solely self funded club night.
In its short existence it has maintained a reputable status amongst
its dedicated followers.
Saathi Night is one of the most entertaining and friendliest
South Asian Gay and Lesbian club nights to go to. It has always
stuck firm to its belief in playing the best in urban and desi music.
Primarily the focus is on Bollywood and Bhangra yet there is a
heavy influence of Garage, R'n'B and Hip-Hop and not forgetting
everyone’s favourite, what has made Saathi Night what it is today...good
old fashioned Boliyan and Giddha!
Saathi Night has already begun to spread the world across
mainland Europe. In October 2002 we were invited to play at the
launch of ‘6th Holande Nieuwe’ Cosmic Theater, Amsterdam, Holland.
Then in April 2003 our very own resident DJ Walla Perdes Simplay
was the headline act at ‘Birmingham - The Party’ for Benetton/Colors
Magazine launch night at Fabbrica Del Velpore, Milan, Italy.
Saathi Night is constantly expanding. Future one off event’s
have already been planned for this year - ‘Saathi Night Special’,
including Birmingham Pride 2003 and for the first time ever, we
have our very own dance tent for the main day, followed by an after
party!
Saathi Night is organised and promoted by the Infamous Perdes
Simplay, along side “The Saathi Night Crew”. We would like to take
this opportunity and thank everybody who has supported us.
Music by DJ Walla Perdes Simplay and guests. We look forward
to welcoming you, and to experience all that is Saathi Night.
(THE MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADMISSION!).
